Christ Prep Academy has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Independence Home School Lions at 5:15 p.m.
Last Friday, Christ Prep Academy ended up a good deal behind Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool and lost 67-48. While losing is never fun, Christ Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool is ranked 96th).
Meanwhile, Independence Home School came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Frontier STEM, posting a 69-28 victory at home. Independence Home School's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Christ Prep Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-4. As for Independence Home School, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Everything came up roses for Christ Prep Academy against Independence Home School in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 as the squad secured a 60-33 victory. Will Christ Prep Academy repeat their success, or does Independence Home School have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
