Danville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Lowellville Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Danville extended their postseason success on Friday against Springfield. They blew past the Tigers 32-6.
Danville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cole Delaughder out in front who rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Delaughder was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards. Bryer Boeshart and his 91 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Danville's win.
Another reason for the win was Danville's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 7.5 sacks. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Even though Lowellville has not done well against Western Reserve recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Everything went Lowellville's way against Western Reserve as Lowellville made off with a 32-7 win. The win was familiar territory for Lowellville who now have seven in a row.
Santino Rivera-ocasio got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 223 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Michael Ballone also helped out as he racked up 113 rushing yards.
Their wins bumped Danville to 12-0 and Lowellville to 11-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Danville has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 273.2 rushing yards per game.
