On Wednesday, Hawaiian Mission Academy was beaten by Kamehameha Kapalama 54-25. Hawaiian Mission Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-6.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Schylan Safotu, who scored 8 points along with 13 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shynastee Ahina, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Hawaiian Mission Academy and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Kamehameha Kapalama, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hawaiian Mission Academy will face off against Waialua at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kamehameha Kapalama will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on 'Iolani at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
