On Thursday, Lone Star had to suffer through a rough 80-33 loss at the hands of La Vega. While losing is never fun, Lone Star can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 651st, while La Vega is ranked 11th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Vega to victory, but perhaps none more so than Solange Loadholt, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Angela Carroll was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Lone Star has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for La Vega, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-6.
Lone Star will head out on the road to face off against Reedy at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday. La Vega won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southlake Carroll at 10:30 a.m. on December 29th. One thing working in Southlake Carroll's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
