The Brandon Bulldogs will challenge the Clinton Arrows at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Brandon 3.9, Clinton 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Brandon is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Petal, who was ranked 15th at the time (Brandon was ranked 19th). The Bulldogs never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Brandon gave Cooper Hooks the start and clearly made the right call: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Hooks has posted since back in March of 2025.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tre McQueen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Graydon Walker was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clinton). They blew past Murrah 27-0 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Arrows as they're now sitting on four straight.
Clinton got a massive performance out of Ethan Dodson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Dodson has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chad Bates, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Clinton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matchups.
Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Brandon, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
Brandon beat Clinton 5-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2021. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Arrows have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
