The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Bend Career Academy in their matchups with South Bend Clay: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why South Bend Career Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Quincy Bradshaw. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Mykel Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
South Bend Clay found their leader in underclassman Tyrese Jones, who scored 36 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelin Webster, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
South Bend Career Academy has not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for South Bend Clay, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
