The Susquehannock Warriors will head out to face off against the Spring Grove Rockets at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Susquehannock has five straight victories, Spring Grove has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Susquehannock is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over York Suburban on Friday. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Ella Wetzel made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michelle Morris, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Sofia Deffendall was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Susquehannock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Eastern York hit Spring Grove with a six-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rockets lost 13-3 to the Golden Knights.
Andrina Camilleri made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Makennah Stiles, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Susquehannock's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Spring Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
Susquehannock beat Spring Grove 4-1 in their previous matchup on April 9th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
