The South Hunterdon Eagles will face off against the Ewing Blue Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, South Hunterdon got the win against Manville by a conclusive 10-1. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Elsie Scheetz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, South Hunterdon got a massive performance out of Hailey Brown, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those RBI were Brown's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin O'Rourke, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
South Hunterdon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ewing). They had just enough and edged out Hightstown 13-11. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Morgan Dwyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Dwyer was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Sydney Mahan was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Abbie Mahan, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
South Hunterdon now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Ewing, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Ewing's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: South Hunterdon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. It's a different story for Ewing, though, as they've only averaged .235. Will they be able to contain South Hunterdon's hitters?
South Hunterdon skirted past Ewing 3-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
