Williamsville South moved up to 120 from 200 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 6 A - South. The Billies climbed the ranks as a result of beating McKinley 35-14.
West Seneca East extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Starpoint, 36-35. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Trojans.
Iroquois's dynamic duo of Matt Keating and Craig Callahan proved tough for Grand Island to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Keating threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns and Callahan had 31 yards receiving. Nate Wilkinson helped Iroquois' passing attack out by catching three balls for 24 yards.
Jovanni Klimowicz was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 27 carries, he ran for 149 yards as Lake Shore lost to the Vikings. Teammate Nick Evans added to the ground attack by rushing for 38 yards.
Iroquois' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Chiefs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Keating has thrown for 1096 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Wilkinson has 34 catches for 581 yards. Tyler Miller leads the league in rushing with 892 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Williamsville South takes on West Seneca East. At the moment, Kraig Kurzanski's team is in third, while Jim Maurino's team is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Billies take on the Trojans. Williamsville South has allowed 146 points this season, while West Seneca East has given up 114. The Billies allowed 14 points last week as they bested the Macks.
The Trojans and the Spartans played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Trojans eventually emerging with a 36-35 victory.
