The Oaks Christian Lions had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Simi Valley 48-16 at home. The result was nothing new for Oaks Christian, who have now won six games by 27 points or more so far this season.
Oaks Christian had a senior duo take command as Chase Farrell picked up 254 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Nate Bennett threw for 342 yards and four touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes. Farrell's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards. Stevie Amar was another key contributor, picking up 44 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the defeat, Simi Valley had strong showings from Brice Hawkins, who rushed for 151 yards while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and Jayden Clarke, who rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Simi Valley's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Izak Simpson and Isaac Hannans who racked up four sacks between them.
Oaks Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Simi Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Oaks Christian will be playing at home against St. Bonaventure at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Bonaventure is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Simi Valley, they will take on Bishop Diego at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
