North Star has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Cole Valley Christian Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. North Star will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Cole Valley Christian is ranked seventh).
Last Wednesday, North Star lost to Marsing at home by a decisive 57-38 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Star in their matchups with Marsing: they've now lost three in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Blake Hansen, who scored 20 points along with two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Milt Pettit was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cole Valley Christian waltzed into their match on Wednesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They managed a 52-48 victory over New Plymouth.
North Star dropped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.2 points per game. As for Cole Valley Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-1.
North Star took a serious blow against Cole Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 61-18. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point North Star was down 31-9.
