The St. Augustine Yellow Jackets will take on the Clay Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Augustine will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
St. Augustine had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Menendez on Friday. The Yellow Jackets' pitchers stepped up to hand the Falcons a 6-0 shutout. The Yellow Jackets not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 20th (when they won 10-2).

Kaiden Blakney made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since March 3rd. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Dalton Greene looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of St. Augustine's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 5-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't).
Blakney wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Kirk, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run. Another was Drew O'Quinn, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
St. Augustine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Clay came up short against St. Johns Country Day on Friday and fell 6-3. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
JC Rosette made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.
St. Augustine's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Clay, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
St. Augustine couldn't quite get it done against Clay in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 as they fell 4-1. Will the Yellow Jackets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
