It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Templeton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Nipomo and snuck past 67-64. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Templeton has posted yet this season.
It was another big night for Ryan Mcnamee, who scored 24 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Luke Asplund, who scored 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Lompoc was handed a 29-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Atascadero on Tuesday. Lompoc narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Atascadero 61-58. The win was just what Lompoc needed coming off of a 66-37 defeat in their prior game.
Templeton has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Lompoc, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
Everything came up roses for Templeton against Lompoc in their previous meeting on January 9th as the team secured a 79-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Templeton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
