Picayune extended the longest winning streak in 5A Region 4 this week by beating Moss Point, 41-26. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Pearl River Central took down Long Beach 64-21 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Doug Cross was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 206 yards as Picayune beat East Central. Desmond Taylor also contributed to the rushing game with 119 yards on the ground.
Anthony Mitchell threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns. He was 18-29 with one interceptions.
Hoye was the best wideout in the league this week as the Panthers defeated the Hornets. Hoye tallied two receptions for 109 yards. Anfernee Norvell helped Pascagoula's passing attack out by catching one ball for 14 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Mitchell of the Tigers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 883. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, the Maroon Tide's Preston Dedeaux has rushed for 747 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Chad Cook. The Long Beach star has 14 catches for 293 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Moss Point takes on the Blue Devils. At the moment, Kevin Jackson's team is in fourth, while Pearl River Central is in second.
Eric Collins' team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on the Bearcats.
