In this week's power rankings, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down, along with everything in between. Among the action were the efforts of Lakeland's junior Demarkcus Bowman, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Lakeland got a 42 - 0 win over George Jenkins last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Demarkcus Bowman. Bowman ran for 225 yards and also punched in five touchdowns. That performance made Bowman one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Jesuit and Osceola, 40th and 51st in the MaxPreps state rankings, respectively. Jesuit came out on top against Osceola with a 21 - 7 win. The victory boosted Jesuit a satisfying five spots in the power rankings.
Game of Inches
The title of the most exciting match of the week goes to the clash between Berkeley Prep and Edison. Berkeley Prep can thank its lucky stars for its win over Edison. The final score was a hard-fought 21 - 20. 21 is shaping up to be Berkeley Prep's lucky number as the team posted the same point total in its victory over Tampa Catholic the game before.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Bloomingdale (7th in the power rankings) and Tampa Bay Tech (4th). This will be the second home game in a row for Bloomingdale. Tampa Bay Tech and Bloomingdale can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Friday which team falters and which extends its success.
