The Pender Pendragons will head out on the road to take on the Homer Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Pender suffered a rough 62-42 loss at the hands of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Pender has struggled against Guardian Angels Central Catholic recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Homer was beaten by Hartington-Newcastle 59-17 on Monday. Homer was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-3.
Pender's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5. As for Homer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-13.
Everything came up roses for Pender against Homer in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 64-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pender since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
