On Wednesday, the St. Marys Blue Devils faced the Williamstown Yellowjackets in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Marys escaped with a win against Williamstown by the margin of a single free throw, 51-50. The win made it back-to-back wins for St. Marys.
St. Marys' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addie "r" Davis, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiera Martin, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
St. Marys' victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Williamstown, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
St. Marys will head out on the road to take on Tyler at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Marys is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.9 points per game this season. As for Williamstown, they will square off against Riverside at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Williamstown is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in West Virginia (they are ranked 14th, while Riverside is ranked 71st).
