While Highland's win against Alton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Redbirds 7-5. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Redbirds: they've now won seven in a row.

Nolan Houchins looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Blake Gelly was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Garrin Stone, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run.

Highland's record is now 9-6. As for Alton, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-7.

Coming up, Highland will challenge Waterloo at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Alton, they will square off against Father McGivney Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
