Jacob Moore Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Starting off the list is Terry Sanford's Jacob Moore, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Moore rushed for 121 yards on only 12 carries, and also threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (102.2) per game. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 50 yards.
The victory was the third in a row for Terry Sanford, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. Moore and Terry Sanford will take on Harnett Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Performance from Jordan Bryant Leads Overhills over Western Harnett
Jordan Bryant produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Overhills to the win on Friday. Bryant threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns on perfect 13-for-13 passing, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. He has become a key player for Overhills: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
Bryant must have Western Harnett's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Bryant last faced the Eagles back in September of 2023, he threw for 198 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Justice Clifton produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Terry Sanford to the win on Thursday. Clifton wasn't messing around, picking up two sacks, forcing a fumble, and making ten total tackles (4.0 for loss). The matchup was his fifth straight with six or more total tackles dating back to last season.
For the season, Clifton has averaged 6.8 total tackles per game and for the season has 6 sacks. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging two total tackles per game.

Latrell Carter Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Pine Forest was sadly handed a defeat on Thursday, but Latrell Carter did his best to prevent it. Carter made a major impact, rushing for 149 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (105.8).
The loss snapped Pine Forest's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record. Carter and Pine Forest will square off against E.E. Smith at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Marquis James Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Overhills got the W thanks in part to Marquis James playing the best football he has all season. James wasn't messing around, picking up a sack and making 15 total tackles (3.0 for loss). The game was his 11th straight with five or more total tackles dating back to last season.
For the season, James has averaged 9.2 total tackles per game and for the season has those 1 sack.
