It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Terrell Academy Eagles can now relate to. They were the victim of a rough 51-28 defeat at the hands of Frederica Academy on Friday. Terrell Academy's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it five in a row.
Jordan Triplett was his usual excellent self, rushing for 350 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for 62 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Triplett is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rico Holmes, who gained 120 total yards and two touchdowns.
Terrell Academy bumped their record down to 6-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Frederica Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
Terrell Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Frederica Academy will head out on the road to face off against Valwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Valwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Frederica Academy likes a good challenge.
