The East Forsyth Eagles had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They breezed by Page at home to the tune of 42-6. Considering East Forsyth has won six matchups by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
East Forsyth's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryce Baker, who threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt. Baker is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaire Richburg, who picked up 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
East Forsyth's win was their 13th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Parkland and 2-8 R.J. Reynolds (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 43.5% over those games). As for Page, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
East Forsyth will look to defend their home field on Friday against Independence at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Independence is ranked 11th, while East Forsyth is ranked 13th). Page does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
