Basketball Recap: Oasis Academy Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Sierra Lutheran came into Monday's matchup looking for another win against Oasis Academy, but Grace Laca wouldn't allow it. The Oasis Academy Bighorns skirted past the Sierra Lutheran Falcons 28-26 thanks in part to Laca, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Craig, who had four points and five rebounds. What's more, she also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Sierra Lutheran lost on Monday, don't look at Chloe Friend. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Oasis Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points per game. As for Sierra Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Oasis Academy will host Pershing County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pershing County's defense has only allowed 26.7 points per game this season, so Oasis Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Sierra Lutheran, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 26-12 defeat against Smith Valley on the 17th.
