The Victory Baptist Academy Saints posted their biggest win since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past Lewisburg Baptist Academy 72-39 on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Victory Baptist Academy just coasted through the last quarter.
Victory Baptist Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Hunt, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Hunt hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Cormican, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Lewisburg Baptist Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Elijah Brookman and Dylan Wykle. Brookman scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals, while Wykle scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Brookman grabbed two or more steals.
The victory (which was Victory Baptist Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 11-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Lewisburg Baptist Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Victory Baptist Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Morgantown Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Morgantown Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Lewisburg Baptist Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Beth Haven Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
