Lowcountry Leadership is 2-7 against the Riptide since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators will head out on the road to face off against the Charleston Math & Science Riptide at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 17 consecutive losses for Lowcountry Leadership and six for the Riptide.
On Monday, Lowcountry Leadership had to suffer through a rough 60-16 loss at the hands of the Chargers. While losing is never fun, Lowcountry Leadership can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Chargers are ranked ninth).
Meanwhile, Charleston Math & Science was beaten by the Trojans 68-14 on Friday. Charleston Math & Science was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-6.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Dalailyn Reed, who scored three points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Peyton Webb, who scored five points.
Lowcountry Leadership dropped their record down to 0-17 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.4 points per game. As for Charleston Math & Science, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.
Lowcountry Leadership came up short against the Riptide in their previous matchup back in January, falling 54-41. Can Lowcountry Leadership avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
