The Logansport Berries will venture away from home to take on the Caston Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Logansport will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Logansport barely beat Kokomo the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Berries blew past the Wildkats 12-2 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Berries, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Bella Nicoles was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalee Packard, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run.
Logansport was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .407 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Caston had taken Manchester down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Comets fell just short of the Squires by a score of 4-3.
Caston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Warner, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and one run.
Logansport pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Caston, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
Caston's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Logansport has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Caston, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given Logansport's sizable advantage in that area, the Comets will need to find a way to close that gap.
Logansport was able to grind out a solid victory over Caston in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 8-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Berries since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
