Pioneer Valley League recap November 19, 2013
Center moved up to 172 from 240 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Pioneer Valley League. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of beating Modesto Christian 34-0.
Center extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Crusaders, 34-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for Digol JBeily's team.
Colfax's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Michael Wilson threw for 365 and 3 touchdowns and Chas Reisinger had 223 yards receiving. On the ground Tim Rawlins chipped in 144 yards. Kyle Bryant helped Colfax's passing attack out by catching 9 balls for 112 yards.
Reisinger had an awesome week catching the football as the Falcons beat Sierra. He caught 8 passes for 223 yards.
He went 20-36 with 2 interceptions.
Rawlins was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 144 yards as Colfax beat the Timberwolves. Marcus Jackson also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.
Tony Martello's team's Wilson and Reisinger have formed a dream team this season, leading Pioneer Valley League in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Wilson has thrown for 3,234 yards this season, while Reisinger has 71 catches for 1,281 yards. Dane Stimbert from Lincoln leads the league in rushing with 1,444 yards.
Eddy Cobleigh has rushed for 978 yards on 123 carries so far this year.
Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Placer takes on the Cougars. The Hillmen's offense has scored 416 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Center has allowed only 164 on the year.
As it stands, the Cougars are in second, while Placer is in fifth.
Center took down Modesto Christian 34-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
