The King's Academy Lions will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
King's Academy and Cardinal Newman squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly King's Academy had to settle for second. They received a tough blow as they fell 74-60 to the Crusaders.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe Catholic struggled with threes on Saturday (Bell Creek Academy had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Santa Fe Catholic was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Bell Creek Academy.
Despite the loss, Santa Fe Catholic got a solid performance out of Danilo Stankovic, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Hudson Dykhuizen, who scored 13 points.
King's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 21-7. As for Santa Fe Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 23-5.
King's Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Santa Fe Catholic in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 81-70. Does King's Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Fe Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
