The Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles will challenge the Red Rock Scorpions at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Scottsdale Christian Academy has four straight wins, Red Rock has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Scottsdale Christian Academy made easy work of Camp Verde and carried off a 15-1 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Dylan Tims was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Scottsdale Christian Academy is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Tims was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, Hank Berg was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Scottsdale Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Luke Troxell was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Scottsdale Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Red Rock came up short against Madison Highland Prep on Thursday, falling 15-3.
Scottsdale Christian Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Red Rock, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8-1.
Scottsdale Christian Academy took their win against Red Rock in their previous meeting back in May of 2021 by a conclusive 19-1 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scorpions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
