This season hasn't been kind to the Pen Argyl Green Knights, who are still winless after their ninth game. They suffered a tough 60-36 defeat at the hands of Lehighton on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pen Argyl in their matchups with Lehighton: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Pen Argyl had strong showings from Jack Mclaughlin, who scored 12 points, and Mason Soos, who scored seven points along with five rebounds. Mclaughlin continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Pen Argyl bumped their record down to 0-9 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lehighton, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pen Argyl will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mahanoy Area at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Lehighton will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Bethlehem Christian at 6:30 p.m. on December 27th. Bethlehem Christian is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
