Baseball Recap: Grace Prep Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Grace Prep ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Pantego Christian Panthers 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Banks Harris, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Carson Lednicky, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Grace Prep pushed their record up to 11-4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Pantego Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4-1.

Coming up, Grace Prep will head out on the road to face off against Fort Worth Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pantego Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Covenant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
