Scott City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clara Landis, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one double. Landis is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, while East Prairie put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Meadow Heights. The Eagles put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 25-0 victory. The Eagles have beaten the Panthers the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.
Jonna Rice made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Laney Childers was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ella Dunn was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, five runs, and one triple.
East Prairie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meadow Heights only posted an OBP of .267.
East Prairie's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Scott City, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Scott City might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from East Prairie in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
