The Jefferson Panthers's game on Saturday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Manhattan. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jefferson in their matchups with Manhattan: they've now lost five in a row.
Jefferson's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dalton Noble, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Colt Tietje who scored 17 points.
Jefferson has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Manhattan, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will face off against Ennis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ennis is on a three-game streak of home losses, Jefferson a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Manhattan, they will head out on the road to square off against Broadwater at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Broadwater will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Montana Rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Manhattan is ranked 23rd).
