The Los Gatos Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Palo Alto Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Los Gatos was handed a three-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Gunn on Thursday. Los Gatos simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Gunn 71-41 at home. Given Los Gatos' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Gunn is ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nolan G. koch was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Scotty Brennan, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Mountain View typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Palo Alto proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 57-45.
Los Gatos' victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Palo Alto, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Los Gatos didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Palo Alto in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 50-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Los Gatos since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
