It was a good run, but Olathe West unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were beaten by the Blue Valley North Mustangs 64-37. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Mustangs are ranked 32nd).

Olathe West's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Blue Valley North, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olathe West will square off against Blue Valley Northwest at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Blue Valley Northwest: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Olathe West has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season. As for Blue Valley North, they will challenge Bishop Miege at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Blue Valley North has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 223 points over their last three games.
