Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Belen's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Belen got themselves on the board against Valencia on Tuesday, but Valencia never followed suit. They blew past the Jaguars 15-0. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

Paesen Lucero and Lorissa Scott were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Lucero pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Scott pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Lucero went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Scott went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Belen let Honey Mirabal and Araceli Franco run wild. Mirabal got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Franco went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Peyten Lucero, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Belen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in eight consecutive matchups.

Belen is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Valencia, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12.
