Basketball Recap: First Baptist Academy Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

If Hill Country Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played First Baptist Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Noah Napier. The First Baptist Academy Eagles greeted the New Year with with a 60-46 victory over the Hill Country Christian Rams thanks in part to Napier, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 19 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy De La Rosa, who posted 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Those six boards gave him a new career-high.

First Baptist Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Hill Country Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

First Baptist Academy will face off against Cornerstone Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something First Baptist Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hill Country Christian, they will challenge Austin Classical at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
