Hamilton is 2-8 against the Dolphins since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hamilton Yankees will be staying on the road to face off against the Palisades Dolphins at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Wednesday, Hamilton ended up a good deal behind the Gondoliers and lost 68-54.
Despite the loss, Hamilton had strong showings from Garrett Anderson, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds, and Micah Jahn, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Anderson pulled down eight or more rebounds. Chinonso Njoku was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three blocks.
Meanwhile, Palisades pushed their score all the way to 60 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Fairfax 66-60. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Palisades came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while the Lions are ranked 795th).
Hamilton's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-17. As for Palisades, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-14.
Hamilton might still be hurting after the 78-56 defeat they got from the Dolphins in their previous meeting back in January. Can Hamilton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
