We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Iota is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Ville Platte will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Iota extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 7-4 victory over Rayne.
Haydyn Schexnayder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Cormier, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Kaleigh Roy also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Ville Platte came up short against Mamou on Tuesday, falling 14-3. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Demons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Ville Platte saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaelyn Bias, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Iota pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Ville Platte, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Iota hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Ville Platte struggles in that department as they've averaged .391. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Iota took their win against Ville Platte in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Iota since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
