In other batting news, Kamiakin let Jordynn Marquez and Lila Hagensen run wild. Marquez went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Hagensen scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave Hagensen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Layla Dauenhauer, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Kamiakin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Walla Walla only posted a batting average of .071.
Meanwhile, Hanford faced Richland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Falcons came up short against the Bombers, falling 8-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.
Hanford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylee Velasco, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Kamiakin's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Hanford, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Kamiakin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .462. However, it's not like Hanford struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
