The Manchester Township Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Brick Memorial Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Manchester Township is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Mustangs in New Jersey (the Hawks are ranked 75th, while the Mustangs are ranked 217th).
On Wednesday, Manchester Township took a serious blow against the , falling 67-34. Manchester Township was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-12.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Devyn Quigley, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 41.2% of Manchester Township's points, marking the 19th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Andrews, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Brick Memorial was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 41-40 to the Golden Eagles.
Manchester Township's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for Brick Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
Manchester Township strolled past the Mustangs in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 58-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manchester Township since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
