Pine Forest has won three straight games at home, while Overhills has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Trojans will host the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Pine Forest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
While Pine Forest's win against Triton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans skirted past the Hawks 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since February 26th.
Ryan Temple was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, J.J. Watson and Jayhlen Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Watson scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Brown scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Brown a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Overhills got the win against Westover on Friday by a conclusive 17-1. Considering the Jaguars have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Pine Forest, Overhills also got a great game from a two-way player: Tyrell Copper. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Copper was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing four bases.
Copper wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Danny Sykes, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Montrell James, who scored three runs.
Overhills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .515 or higher in three consecutive games.
Overhills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Pine Forest, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pine Forest has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Overhills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Pine Forest took their win against Overhills in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
