The Southwick Regional Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Holyoke Purple Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southwick Regional will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Southwick Regional barely beat Smith Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 14-1 victory on Thursday. Considering the Rams have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Anna Novak made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, Southwick Regional let Eleanor Rolandini and Brooke Comee run wild. Rolandini got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Comee went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Rolandini has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Catherine Giroux, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Southwick Regional was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Longmeadow hit Holyoke with a ten-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Purple Knights came up short against the Lancers, falling 14-2. The Purple Knights haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Alanna Bonilla made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.
Holyoke's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Southwick Regional, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Southwick Regional might still be hurting after the 16-3 loss they got from Holyoke in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
