The South Point Pointers fell victim to the Gallia Academy Blue Devils''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 28-0 loss at the hands of the Blue Devils. South Point has struggled against Gallia Academy recently, as their match on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
South Point's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 5-5. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Gallia Academy, Fairland, and Ironton. As for Gallia Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
South Point will head out on the road to face off against Barnesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Barnesville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully South Point likes a good challenge. As for Gallia Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vinton County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vinton County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
