Even though the James River Knights have not done well against the Floyd County Buffaloes recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. James River secured a 46-42 W over Floyd County. The victory made it back-to-back wins for James River.
It was another big night for Caitlin Canada, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kelsi Maydian, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
The victory got James River back to even at 8-8. As for Floyd County, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. James River will square off against Alleghany at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Floyd County, they will head out on the road to face off against Spotswood at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
