After both having extra time off, the St. Ursula Academy Arrows and the Columbian Tornadoes will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with St. Ursula Academy sitting on three straight wins and Columbian on five.
St. Ursula Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Bowling Green with a sharp 3-0 victory.
St. Ursula Academy can attribute much of their success to Blake Schroyer, who had eight digs and four aces, and Sidney Pollex, who had 12 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Schroyer has posted since back in August.
They weren't the only good servers: St. Ursula Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They are 9-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Columbian narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Notre Dame Academy 3-2.
Columbian took Notre Dame Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-15, 15-13.
St. Ursula Academy better keep an eye on Erica Raubenolt. She was instrumental in Columbian's win, getting 11 digs and two assists.
St. Ursula Academy's record now sits at 11-12. As for Columbian, their record is now 18-7.
