General Brown hasn't had much luck against Lowville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lions will head out to square off against the Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, General Brown earned a 9-5 win over Alexandria Central.
Jackson Ward was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ward was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brock McManaman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kael Hoselton, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
General Brown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Lowville waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Lions.
Dominic Sweirnik spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Lowville's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Zane Zustra was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Waugh, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
General Brown's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Lowville, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. General Brown has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lowville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
General Brown couldn't quite get it done against Lowville in their previous matchup on Friday as they fell 5-1. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
