On Monday, Carmi-White County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Sparta, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Carmi-White County.
Despite the defeat, Sparta saw an underclassman step up: Robert Greer dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Darnell Smith, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Carmi-White County's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Sparta, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Herrin the next time they take the court. Sparta will head out to face Herrin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Carmi-White County will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
