The Cincinnati Christian Cougars will be taking part in a tournament against the Deer Park Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Cincinnati Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
Cincinnati Christian couldn't beat Roger Bacon on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Cougars fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 8-7. The Cougars have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Kelsey Stacy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Anna Bowling led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Ava Starks was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Deer Park made easy work of Northwest on Friday and carried off a 20-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Rosalyn Stahley was incredible, firing off four runs, four doubles, and five RBI while going 4-for-4. Those four doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Louden, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
Deer Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The victory made it two in a row for Deer Park and bumps their season record up to 7-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Cincinnati Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cincinnati Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. However, it's not like Deer Park struggles in that department as they've averaged .442. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Cincinnati Christian's way against Deer Park in their previous meeting back in March, as Cincinnati Christian made off with a 25-9 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
