The Centaurus Warriors's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Greeley Central Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Centaurus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Centaurus suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Windsor, falling 65-31. Centaurus has struggled against Windsor recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their defeat, Centaurus saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Antuan Vargas, who scored 12 points, was perhaps the best of all.
Centaurus struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Greeley Central lost to Silver Creek on the road by a decisive 66-50 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Greeley Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while Silver Creek is ranked 20th).
Centaurus has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Greeley Central, they bumped their record down to 6-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Centaurus strolled past Greeley Central in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 56-40. Does Centaurus have another victory up their sleeve, or will Greeley Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
