After a string of seven wins, the St. Augustine Catholic Wolves's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They suffered a tough 34-9 loss at the hands of Horizon Honors. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Augustine Catholic has scored all season.
Cassidy Dickherber was St. Augustine Catholic's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Megan Callahan held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
Horizon Honors got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amelia McCrory out in front who scored eight points along with 17 rebounds. McCrory has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Audriana Anglada was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
St. Augustine Catholic's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6. As for Horizon Honors, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Augustine Catholic will face off against Bisbee at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Bisbee is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Horizon Honors won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Phoenix Country Day at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Phoenix Country Day is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
